Here is a thing I thought of today: Nostr is awesome because hard core power users and what they like about nostr won't really be affected by new people joining. Because there is not a central authority attempting to monetize a product for capital holders, the entire product won't be tailored to capture premium from the most users. You won't lose that experience you loved here on nostr (at least I hope). Sure, maybe a client will tailor a product to the Tik Tok Refugees, or some future instagram refugees...but the protocol and my experience that I like right now... I won't lose that. Because, you see, nostr is more like an octopus with many tentacles, as opposed to say, twitter for example, which is more like a whale. The whale is one mass that takes everyone to wherever its going, whether i want to or not. But, I can stay on my tentacle with the features, the people I want to talk to, the experience I enjoy and not get taken along for the ride. You dig ? #Tentacles , am i right ???

Realizing that now that i can self host nostr wallet connect connections on my Start9 OS, which can be fine tuned to have a specific budget and time expiration... one could lease out wallet connections to their node to other nostr users...giving them effectively a prepaid debit card they can use throughout the protocol to zap people, pay for content, pay for goods. Makes being a btc bank wildly easy ( and easier as ecosystem progresses). Wild 🤯

If you are interested in local use cases for nostr, relay.tools + nostrudel.ninja is probably the best combo for a private relay that you host and include friends / family / community. I just tested it out, the private relay allows you to whitelist npubs to allow them to write messages on the relay. The setup proces for the relay was easy and intuitive. The cost is manageable especially if costs were shared (21000 sats / month...about $8 / month). And the on-boarding experience for nostrudel.ninja allows a user to bootstrap their nsec with just the private relay, which will minimize gobal nostr stuff bleeding into the experience. Nostrudel.ninja is also just one of the more feature rich and better functioning clients out there so your friends / family will find the use-experience great if it's their first time with nostr (most likely is). It's what I'll be using for mine 😃
