Reading this book i found about the city of Vanport. A WW2 ship building town that boomed to house the needed workers to build ships. It was located outside Portland, OR. The city entire existence was basically only 6 years, as it was wiped out in a flood in 1948. Hoping to finish it this weekend...trying to revive the reading habit part of my brain 🙂
